Teen Patti on 11exch: Rules, Hand Rankings and Honest Odds

Most of us learnt Teen Patti on a bedsheet at Diwali with a pile of ten-rupee notes. The live-casino version keeps the same hands but changes how you bet. Here is what is different, what the real probabilities are, and how to keep a session cheap.

Hand rankings, strongest to weakest

Three cards each, standard 52-card deck, no jokers. Out of 22,100 possible hands:

HandWhat it isExampleChance
Trail / TrioThree of the same rankA♠ A♥ A♦0.24%
Pure sequenceThree in a row, same suitJ♥ Q♥ K♥0.22%
SequenceThree in a row, mixed suits4♣ 5♦ 6♠3.26%
ColourSame suit, not in a row2♠ 7♠ K♠4.96%
PairTwo of the same rank9♦ 9♣ 4♥16.94%
High cardNone of the aboveA♣ 8♦ 3♥74.39%

Two details people argue about at home: A-2-3 counts as a sequence (in most rule sets it ranks just below A-K-Q), and when two players hold the same type of hand, the higher top card wins. Look at the last row again, though. Three hands out of four are nothing but a high card. That single fact explains most of what follows.

How a live table runs

In the common live format the dealer deals two hands face up, Player A and Player B. Before the cards come out you have a short betting window — usually around 15 to 20 seconds — to back A or B. The better hand wins and pays a little under even money; that small shortfall is the house margin. There is no bluffing, no blind play, no packing. You are predicting, not playing the hand.

Some tables add other versions: 20-20 Teen Patti, one-day Teen Patti with back and lay prices that move as each card is revealed (closer to how the cricket exchange works), and Muflis, where the rankings are flipped and the worst hand wins. Read the rules panel on the table before your first bet; it takes thirty seconds.

Side bets: fun, but know the price

Alongside A or B you will usually see side bets such as "pair or better" or a bonus on the six-card combination. The payouts look generous — a trail can pay 30 or 40 to 1. Now compare with the table above: a trail shows up about once in 425 deals. A bet that pays 40 to 1 on something that happens 1 time in 425 is a very expensive ticket.

That does not mean never touch them. It means treat a side bet like a lottery scratch card: small, occasional, and with money you have already written off. The main A/B bet is where the margin is thinnest.

Patterns, streaks and other stories

Every live table shows a history board — A, A, B, A, A, A… — and every player has at some point been sure that B is "due". It is not. Each round is dealt from a freshly shuffled shoe, and the cards do not remember the last hand. Five A's in a row tells you nothing about the sixth. The board is there because players like it, not because it predicts anything.

The same goes for paid "Teen Patti tricks" sold on Telegram. If someone genuinely knew the next card, they would not be selling that for ₹499.

Staking that keeps the evening cheap

  • Fix the session budget first and split it into at least 40–50 equal bets. With ₹1,000, that is ₹20–25 a round, not ₹200.
  • Flat stakes. Doubling after a loss (Martingale) works until the one bad run that empties the wallet or hits the table limit. At roughly a coin-flip, six losses in a row is ordinary — expect it a few times in a long session.
  • Set a stop on both sides. Down your budget: stop. Up 50%: consider stopping too. Rounds come every half minute, so the margin is charged quickly.
  • Mind the speed. A T20 gives you one result in three hours. A Teen Patti table gives you over a hundred in one. If you came for cricket, do not let the casino tab eat the cricket budget.

Teen Patti on 11exch: frequently asked questions

Can I play Teen Patti with my 11exch ID?
Yes. The same ID and wallet you use for cricket opens the live casino, where Teen Patti tables run around the clock with real dealers on video.
What is the highest hand in Teen Patti?
A trail (three of a kind), with three aces the best possible hand. After that come pure sequence, sequence, colour, pair and high card.
Is live Teen Patti the same as the game we play at Diwali?
The hand rankings are identical. The format is different: at a live table you usually bet on which of two hands (Player A or Player B) will win, rather than playing blind and chaal against friends around a pot.
How often does a trail come?
About once in 425 hands — roughly 0.24%. That is why side bets paying big on a trail look tempting and lose money over time.
Is there a strategy that beats live Teen Patti?
No. In the A-versus-B format both hands are dealt at random and each wins about half the time, with the house keeping a small margin on the payout. Staking discipline is the only thing you control.
What is the minimum bet?
It depends on the table — there are low-limit tables meant for small stakes as well as higher-limit ones. The limits are shown on each table before you sit down.
